Repair or replace?

Dryers usually last 10 to 13 years. Heating element, thermostat and belt repairs are almost always worth it. If the drum motor or control board needs replacing on an older unit, it's worth comparing the repair quote to a new dryer before committing.

Maintenance tips

  • Clean the lint trap before every load — a full trap is the most common cause of long dry times.
  • Have the exhaust vent professionally cleaned every 1 to 2 years; lint buildup in the vent is a real fire risk, not just an efficiency issue.
  • Check the outside vent flap to make sure it opens freely and isn't blocked by debris or lint.
  • Don't overload the drum — clothes need room to tumble for the heat to dry them evenly.

Long, flexible dryer vent runs are common in LA condos and apartment conversions where the dryer isn't near an exterior wall — those runs trap more lint and are a frequent reason a dryer that "used to dry faster" is really a vent problem, not a dryer problem.

How much does a dryer service call cost?

The diagnostic visit is $89. If you approve the repair, that amount comes off the final bill. You'll see the full quote before any work starts.

Can you really come the same day?

Most days, yes. Calls that come in before noon on weekdays are usually seen the same afternoon. A no-heat dryer is a quick fix for us, so tell us it's a dryer and we'll move you up.

Is it worth repairing my dryer, or should I replace it?

We'll tell you straight. As a rule, if the repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new unit and the dryer is over 10 years old, replacing usually makes more sense. Most belt, element and switch repairs are an easy yes.

What does the warranty cover?

Our labor is guaranteed for 90 days: if the same problem comes back in that window, we come back at no charge. Parts we install carry a 1-year warranty against failures not caused by the customer.

Do you repair gas dryers?

Yes. Our technicians are equipped for both gas and electric dryers, including commercial and coin-op units.

My Samsung dryer shows a code starting with "H" — what does that mean?

Most Samsung dryer H-codes point to the dryer running too hot, which is often linked to a restricted vent rather than the heating element itself. See our Samsung dryer error code page, and have your vent checked before assuming a part has failed.

Is a dryer not heating always the heating element?

No — it's one of several possibilities, including a blown thermal fuse, a bad thermostat, or on gas dryers, an ignition problem. The technician checks all of them rather than replacing parts by guess.
