What you can check yourself
0 / 4 checked
- For FF (freezer fan) or rF (fridge fan), unplug the refrigerator and leave the doors open for a few hours to let frost melt off the fan blades, then restart.
- For dH (defrost ran too long), check that nothing is blocking airflow around the vents inside the freezer compartment.
- For gF (flow sensor / low water pressure), check the water line isn't kinked and the household water pressure is normal elsewhere in the home.
- For CO (communication error), power-cycle the refrigerator — unplug for a minute, then restart.

Book a visitWhen to call a technician
Call a technician for 22/33 (compressor relay) or CL E/CH E (refrigerant leak) — refrigerant work specifically should never be attempted by anyone other than a certified technician.
If your LG fridge has stopped cooling entirely
A code is one thing — a fridge that's gone fully warm while the freezer still runs cold is a different, more specific symptom worth its own guide. LG's linear compressor has a documented failure pattern on some model years; see our dedicated guide before assuming the worst or paying for a repair out of pocket.
OF F isn't a fault
If your display shows OF F, the refrigerator is in demo/showroom mode with cooling intentionally disabled — this sometimes gets triggered by accident through the control panel. Check your owner's manual for how to exit demo mode on your specific model.
A note on this brand's codes: Codes vary by model and production year — check your owner's manual or LG's support site for your exact model if your display shows something not listed here.
